WHERE IS NARRANDERA?
Narrandera is an important destination for travellers as it lies on the Murrumbidgee river at the intersection of the Newell Highway and the Sturt Highway, and acts as gateway to the productive Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area.
Narrandera (proclaimed in 1860) is the ideal stopover on an inland route between Melbourne and Brisbane, or between Adelaide and Sydney:

OUR STORY
built as Somerset Lodge ...
Completed in the late 1920s, this red brick Federation/American design on a ½ acre corner site features a large corrugated iron roof which extends over the 50 square metre verandah, and overlooks a large park.
Designed by government architect Mr J. H. Robinson for American immigrant and local Narrandera businessman Bertie Wade-Ferrell, his wife, and their seven children, the residence became the centre of the social scene, and is still fondly remembered by locals for the many functions it hosted.
reborn as Farrellee House ...
In 2003, Roger and Jan began a labour of love to return the home to its former glory. As "Farrellee House", the residence was renovated in loving period detail, down to furnishings appropriate to the period, restoration of the original leadlight windows, and chandeliers in every room.
Of architectural significance, this grand town residence was Heritage Listed in 2006.
today, The Doulton ...
In 2011, new owners Colette and Nicholas bought the property when they drove through Narrandera and fell in love with this stunning property and its surrounds.
Colette and Nicholas are welcoming hosts and invite you to
